"Arise, shine;
For your light has come!
And the glory of the Lord is risen
upon you.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the
earth,
And deep darkness the people;
But the Lord will arise over you,
And His glory will be seen upon you.
The Gentiles shall come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your
rising."
Note: God's glory light will shine in Jerusalem, and the Gentiles will come to it. |

| Matt. 5:14-16 |
"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."
Note: The operative word is let. We need to choose to let our light shine so others may be uplifted in our works. If we are all doom and gloom we help no one. |

"For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works."
Note: If we do our works to heap glory on ourselves we get our reward on the earth, but when we encourage others to seek Jesus Christ as their Savior, and the One who gives us all we need, we receive a reward in heaven.

"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as we are one: I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me."
Note: Jesus was given the glory from God the Father and when we believe in and follow Him, He gives that glory to us. |
