Jesus Is Light - Makes Us Light

Psa. 119:105 "Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path."
Isa. 9:2 "The people who walked in darkness
Have seen a great light;
Those who dwelt in the land of the
   shadow of death,
Upon them a light has shined."
Isa. 42:6 "I, the Lord, have called You in
   righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a
   covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles."
Isa. 49:6 "Indeed He says,
'It is too small a thing that You should
   be My Servant
To raise up the tribes of Jacob,
And to restore the preserved ones of
   Israel;
I will also give You as a light to the
   Gentiles,
That You should be My salvation to the
   ends of the earth."
Matt. 5:14-16

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Luke 2:29-32 "Lord, now You are letting Your
   servant depart in peace,
According to Your word;
For my eyes have seen Your salvation
Which You have prepared before the
   face of all peoples,
A light to bring revelation to the
   Gentiles,
And the glory of Your people Israel."
John 1:1-9 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man who comes into the world."
John 8:12 "Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying 'I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.' "
2 Cor. 4:3-7 "But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us."

4-26-90 poem: I want to be more like You every single day,
So the words that I speak are what You would say;
I pray, Lord Jesus, with compassion to be filled,
To show other people Your love will never yield.

To touch the lives of my fellow sisters and brothers,
And let us not forget, to touch all the others;
To let Your name, Jesus, be a starting place,
To fill all earth's people with Your Father's grace.

Then let Your Light shine so heavenly bright,
And put on our armor to begin our fight!
We'll ready for battle, with principalities,
So the name of Jesus, the entire world pleads.

Your power we all will begin to release,
To work throughout nature, and all things that breathe;
Replenishing the world with the power of the Word
Is not really as hard as we all have heard.

Satan's trickery we will all then bind,
And together we will save all humankind;
Without Your name, Jesus, this could not be done,
Because Your life saved us, all our lives for One.
Eph. 5:8-14

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), proving what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.
  Therefore He says:

   'Awake, you who sleep,
   Arise from the dead,
   And Christ will give you light.' "
Rev. 21:23 "And the city had no need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of God illuminated it, and the Lamb is it's light."
Bible Note: The following poem came to me at an Aglow Breakfast Meeting.
1-12-90 poem: A glimmer of light that I see
Standing so plainly before me
It is the Lord Jesus Christ
That gives me hope throughout my life!
