Naming Names Causes Pain

1 Sam. 24:10 "Look, this day your eyes have seen that the Lord delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, 'I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the Lord's anointed.' "
2 Sam. 1:14-15 "And David said to him, 'How is it you were not afraid to put forth your hand to destroy the Lord's anointed?' Then David called one of the young men and said, 'Go near, and execute him!' And he struck him so that he died."
Bible Note: David is our example of one who would not avenge his enemy as Saul was God's anointed.
Prov. 18:8 "The words of a *talebearer (slanderer) are like
*tasty trifles (A Jewish tradition reads wounds)
And they go down into the *inmost
body (Lit. rooms of the belly)."
Bible Note: This is where people feel gossip against them. It wounds them in their spirit.
Prov. 21:23 "Whoever guards his mouth and tongue
Keeps his soul from troubles."
Prov. 25:23 "The north wind brings forth rain,
And a backbiting tongue an angry
   countenance."
Bible Note: Today the sword we use is our tongue.
Prov. 26:2 "Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying
  swallow,
So a curse without cause shall not
  alight."
Bible Note: When we are hurt by something someone says we need to look past the hurt and realize there's something in that person hurting them. Show them love by blessing them, and dismiss the remark said. Forgive so we can be forgiven.
Matt. 7:1-2 "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you."
Rom. 16:17-18 "Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple."
Bible Note: This is subtle manipulation to get their way. Sometimes it's best to walk away for a while, but always love them.
1 Cor. 10:11 "Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our *admonition (instruction), on whom the ends of the ages have come."
Bible Note: The Old Testament of the Bible was written for us in the end times to have a guideline as to what happens when you fall away from God. We are to share things we went through with others to try and help them, in love, without names so we don't slander others. I use scripture as an example whenever possible.
Gal. 6:7 "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."
Eph. 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
Heb. 4:12 "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
Bible Note: The word of God is also a sword that enables us to discern.
Jas. 3:1-2 "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a *perfect (mature) man, able also to bridle the whole body."
Bible Note: James talks of horses obeying with bits in their mouths, and large ships driven by fierce winds being turned by a very small rudder.
Jas. 3:5-6 "Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles!"
Bible Note: James mentions beasts and birds, reptiles and sea creatures being tamed by mankind.
Jas. 3:8-10 "But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the *similitude (likeness) of God. Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so."
1 Pet. 4:7-10 "But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins.' (Prov. 10:12) Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."
Bible Note: We need to share, in love, checking the motives of our hearts. If the remarks we hear about others are unkind, or we sense a hurt behind them, we need to consider the source the Holy Spirit shows us. Continue to love the person and wait for the leading of the Holy Spirit before you speak to them about it, gently.
