Avoid Vain Babbling

Matt. 6:6-13

"But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.
   In this manner, therefore, pray:

   Our Father in heaven,
   Hallowed be Your name.
   Your kingdom come.
   Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
   And forgive us our debts,
   As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the
power and the glory forever. Amen."

John 14:13

"And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son."

1 Tim. 6:20 "O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and *vain babblings, (empty chatter) and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge."
2 Tim. 2:15-16

"Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness."
BibleNote: Having been raised a Roman Catholic I believe their rosary falls into this category. Also, in John 2:5 we see the only command Mary gave concerning Jesus "Whatever He says to you, do it." There is no place in the Bible in which we are commanded to pray in any other name but Jesus!
