Abraham Walked A Promise

Gen. 12:1-3 "Now the Lord had said to Abram:

'Get out of your country,
From your kindred
And from your father's house,
To a land that I will show you.
I will make you a great nation;
I will bless you
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you,
And I will curse him who curses you;
And in you all the families of the earth
   shall be blessed.' "
Gen. 12:7 "Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, 'To your descendants I will give this land.' And there he built an altar to the Lord, who had appeared to him."
Gen. 13:14-15, 17 "And the Lord said to Abram... 'Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are - northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your *descendants (Lit. seed) forever...Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.' "
Gen. 17:5 "No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be *Abraham; (the father of a multitude) for I have made you a father of many nations."
Num. 13:30 "Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, 'Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.' "
Num. 14:6, 24 "And Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, who were among those who had spied out the land, tore their clothes... 'But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it.' "
Num. 20:8-12 " 'Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the assembly together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.' So Moses took the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock; and he said to them, 'Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?' Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank. Then the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, 'Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.' "
Num. 27:12-14 "Now the Lord said to Moses: 'Go up into this Mount Abarim, and see the land which I have given to the children of Israel. And when you have seen it, you also shall be gathered to your people, as Aaron your brother was gathered. For in the Wilderness of Zin, during the strife of the congregation, you rebelled against My command to hallow Me at the waters before their eyes.' (These are the waters of Meribah, at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin.)"
Deut. 11:22-24 "For if you carefully keep all these commandments which I command you to do - to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, and to hold fast to Him - then the Lord will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will dispossess greater and mightier nations than yourselves. Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours; from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the River Euphrates, even to the *Western (Mediteranean) Sea, shall be your territory."
Josh. 1:1-3 "After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' assistant, saying: 'Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them - the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses.' "
BibleNote: Abram was promised the land he walked on for his descendants, Moses saw it - but did not enter in because he struck the rock. One hundred and fifteen years later Joshua and Caleb walked it out and were given the land because they obeyed fully what the Lord had commanded them.
