Gen. 12:1-3 | "Now the Lord had said to Abram: 'Get out of your country, From your kindred And From your father's house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.' " |
Gen. 17:5 | "No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be *Abraham; (the father of a multitude) for I have made you a father of many nations. |
Gen. 17:17-20 | "Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed, and said in his heart, 'Shall a child be born to a man who is one hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?' And Abraham said to God, 'Oh, that Ishmael might live before You!' Then God said: 'No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him. And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.' " |
Gen. 26:1-5 | "There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar. Then the Lord appeared to him and said: 'Do not go down to Egypt; dwell in the land of which I shall tell you. *Sojourn (Reside temporarily) in this land, and I will be with you and bless you; for to you and your descendants I give all these lands, and I will perform the oath which I swore to Abraham your father. And I will make your descendants multiply as the stars of heaven; I will give to your descendants all these lands; and in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed; because Abraham obeyed My voice and kept My charge, My commandments, My statutes, and My laws.' " |
Gen. 28:12-15 (Jacob) |
"Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said: 'I am the Lord God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which you lie I will give to you and your descendants. Also your descendants shall be as the dust of the earth; you shall spread abroad to the west and the east, to the north and the south; and in you and in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.' Deut. 23:3-5 | "An Ammonite or Moabite (from Lot Gen. 19:30-38)
shall not enter the congregation of the Lord; even to the tenth generation none
of his descendants shall enter the congregation of the Lord forever, because
they did not meet you with bread and water on the road when you came out of
Egypt (Ammoite Num. 21:22-23, and Moabite Jud. 11:17-18), and because they hired against you Balaam the son of Beor
from Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse you. (Num. 22:1-24:25, 31:1-8). Nevertheless the Lord your God would
not listen to Balaam, but the Lord your God turned the curse into a blessing
for you, because the Lord your God loves you."![]() |
Psa. 122:6-9 | "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: 'May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces.' For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, 'Peace be within you.' Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek your good." ![]() |
Matt. 10:5-14 | Christ sent the twelve out to minister among their own people and said, "If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet." (vs. 13-14) |
Matt. 15:22-28 | Here Jesus responds to the plea of a Canaanite woman
"I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
(vs. 24) And It is not good to take the children's bread and throw
it to the little dogs." (vs. 26) She says, "True, Lord, yet even the
little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters' table." (vs. 27) He
rewards her great faith by healing her daughter. (See The Foreigner God Speaks Of) |
John 3:16 | "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." |
Rom. 11:11-25 | "I say then, have they stumbled that they should
fall? Certainly not! But through their *fall (trespass), to provoke them to
jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for
the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their
fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the
Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy
those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is
the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the
dead? For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is
holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and
you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became
a partaker of the root and *fatness (richness) of the olive tree, do not boast
against the branches. But if you boast, remember that you do not support the
root, but the root supports you. You will say then, 'Branches were broken off
that I might be grafted in.' Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken
off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not
spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the
goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you,
goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.
And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God
is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which
is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree,
how much more will these, who are the natural branches, be grafted into their
own olive tree? For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of
this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own *opinion (estimation), that
hardening in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has
come in." (See Adopted Into the Family of Abraham) ![]() |
