Do Not Be Haughty - But Humble

Psa. 131:1-3 "Lord, my heart is not *haughty, (Proud)
Nor my eyes *lofty (Arrogant)
Neither do I *concern myself (Lit. walk) with great
   matters,
Nor with things too profound for me.
Surely I have calmed and quieted my
   soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within
   me
O Israel, hope in the Lord.
From this time forth and forever."
Mic. 6:8 "He has shown you, O man, what is
    good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love *mercy (Or lovingkindness)
And to walk humbly with your God?"
Luke 18:9-14 An example: "Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 'Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, "God, I thank You that I am not like other men - extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess." And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, "God be merciful to me a sinner!" I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be abased, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.' "
Rom. 12:3 "For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith."
1 Tim. 6:17-19 "Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."
