Jesus Is Our High Priest

John 20:17 "Jesus said to her, 'Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, "I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God." ' "
Heb. 5:5-6 "So also Christ did not glorify Himself to become High Priest, but it was He who said to Him:

'You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.'
      (Psa. 2:7)

As He also says in another place:

'You are a priest forever
According to the order of
   Melchizedek' "
      (Psa. 110:4)
Heb. 6:19-20 "This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek."
Heb. 8:1-2 "Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the *sanctuary (Lit. holies) and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man."
Heb. 9:11-14 "But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without *spot (blemish) to God, *purge (cleanse) your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"
Heb. 9:24 "For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us."
