Not To See Ones Shame

Gen. 9:22-25 "And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. But Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's nakedness. So Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.

Then he said:

'Cursed be Canaan;
A servant of servants
He shall be to his brethren.' "

BibleNote: Why did Noah curse his grandson Canaan instead of Ham? Because Ham had humiliated his father, and Noah wanted him to realize what it feels like to be shamed by you son.
Exod. 20:26 "Nor shall you go up by steps to My altar, that your nakedness not be exposed on it."
Exod. 28:42 "And you shall make for them linen trousers to cover their nakedness; they shall *reach (Lit. be) from the waste to the thighs."
Exod. 39:27-29 "They made tunics, artistically woven of fine linen, for Aaron and his sons, a turban of fine linen, exquisite hats of fine linen, short trousers of fine linen, and a sash of fine linen and blue and purple and scarlet thread, woven as the Lord had commanded Moses."
Lev. 6:10 "And the priest shall put on his linen garment, and his linen trousers he shall put on his body, and take up the ashes of the burnt offering which the fire has consumed on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar."
Rev. 16:15 "Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame."
BibleNote: God arranged for the priests to be covered lest their shame be exposed before the alter. Noah is an example of the result of ones taking seeing the nakedness of another lightly.
