Rebukes Handled Correctly

Prov. 9:8 "Do not reprove a scoffer, lest he hate
   you;
Rebuke a wise man, and he will love
   you."
Matt. 16:21-23 "From that time Jesus began to show to His disciples that He must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, 'Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!' But He turned and said to Peter, 'Get behind Me, Satan! You are *an offense, (a stumbling block) to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.' "
BibleNote: Jesus addressed the source of the rebuke, and thus Peter was not offended.
Matt. 19:13-14

Israel insight
"Then little children were brought to Him that He might put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' "

An adorable little boy in Jerusalem.

See (Let The Children Come To Me)
Mark 9:38-40 "Now John answered Him, saying, 'Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow us.' But Jesus said, 'Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us is on our side.' "
Example: Acts 19:11-17
"Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them. Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, 'We adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.' Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, 'Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?' Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified."
BibleNote: So then, miracles can be worked in the name of Jesus, but if you are not filled with the Holy Spirit you can get beat up.

1 Tim. 5:1-2 "Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, the younger as sisters, with all purity."
1 Tim. 5:17-20 "Let the elders who rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in the word and doctrine. For the Scripture says, 'You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain,' (Deut. 25:4) and, 'The laborer is worthy of his wages.' (Luke 10:7) Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear."
5-12-90 poem: The Lord Jesus' Word when spoken I see,
Does brighten my life, and make evil flee;
My suffering; and my children's do go,
Jesus' name spoken always makes it so.

Bad storms we rebuke, the sky becomes clear,
Illness has left us, never to come near;
Even in our dreams we call to Jesus,
Then all evil thoughts must surely leave us.

The grass is greener, the sky much more blue,
Our happiness is everlasting too!
Only God's children can imagine this
Wonderful life that is filled with such bliss.

When we hit a low, we call for the Lord,
His Spirit He sends of His own accord;
To help bring us through in our time of need,
By watering, and by nurturing His seed.
