Still The Storm - In Jesus' Name

Psa. 65:7 "You who still the noise of the seas,
The noise of their waves,
And the tumult of the peoples."
Psa. 89:9 "You rule the raging of the sea;
When its waves rise,
You still them."
Psa. 107:29 "He calms the storm,
So that its waves are still."
Mark. 4:35-41

"On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, 'Let us cross over to the other side.' Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, 'Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?' "

BibleNote: It's amazing the faith baby Christians have. My daughters and I were walking four miles around the block one day up and down big hills, and we took a short cut along the railroad tracks. But a sudden thunderstorm came up and we didn't have any way to get off the tracks, with a cliff on the left, and a creek on the right. So we joined our hands and spoke "Peace to the storm in Jesus' name." Then we praised God all the way home as we watched the clouds move away from us. When we got home it was bright and sunny. There were other times in which we spoke peace to a storm in Jesus' name when we were in need, and it even rained one time during a drought as I praised God for giving us "...rain in its season..." (Lev. 26:4) and keeping things growing. I would not presume to test God by thinking it is up to me to decide when it should or shouldn't rain, but I certainly give Him thanks for the times we needed help, and He helped us.
