Are We Seeking Worldly Knowledge - Or Gods?

Prov. 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own
   understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
Isa. 29:13-16 "Therefore the Lord said:

'Inasmuch as these people draw near to
   Me with their mouths
And honor Me with their lips,
But have removed their hearts far from
   Me,
And their fear toward Me is taught by
   the commandment of men,
Therefore, behold, I will again do a
   marvelous work
Among this people,
A marvelous work and a wonder;
For the wisdom of their wise men shall
   perish,
And the understanding of their prudent
   men shall be hidden.
Woe to those who seek deep to hide
   their counsel far from the Lord,
And their works are in the dark;
They say, "Who sees us?" and, "Who
   knows us?"
Surely you have things turned around!
Shall the potter be esteemed as the
   clay;
For shall the thing made say of him
   who made it,
"He did not make me"?
Or shall the thing formed say of him
   who formed it,
"He has no understanding"? ' "
Isa. 64:8 "But now, O Lord,
You are our Father;
We are the clay, and You our potter;
And all we are the work of Your hand."
Jer. 18:3-10 "Then I went down to the potter's house, and there he was, making something at the wheel. And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter; so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make. Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: 'O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?' says the Lord. 'Look, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel! The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it.' "
Hos. 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of
   knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest
   for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of
   your God,
I also will forget your children."
Bible Note: Perhaps Americans should go back to seeking God's knowledge.
Matt 7:1-2 "Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what *judgment (condemnation) you judge, you will be judged: and with the same measure you use, it will be measured back to you."
Bible Note: The world calls this "What goes around, comes around."
Mark 7:9-13 "And He said to them, 'All too well you *reject (set aside) the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. For Moses said, "Honor your father and your mother"; and "He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death." But you say, "If a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban (that is, dedicated to the temple)'; and you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother, making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do."
1 Cor.1:18-27 "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:

'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding
   of the prudent.'
    (Isa. 29:14)

Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For the Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty."
1Cor. 3:18-20 "Let no one deceive himself. If anyone among you seems to be wise in this age, let him become a fool that he may become wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, 'He catches the wise in their own craftiness'; (Job 5:13) and again, 'The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are futile.' " (Psa. 94:11)
2 Tim. 3:14-17 "But as for you, continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scroptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for *instruction (training, discipline) in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Bible Note: If you seek your knowledge from everything except a Bible you don't get the inspiration of God.
Jas. 1:5-8 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doublts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."

Jas. 3:1 "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment."
2 Pet. 1:19-21 "We also have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit."
Bible Note: Americans are still privileged to be able to read our Bibles!!!
