I'm Sorry - Is Too Easy

Prov. 10:12 "Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins."
Prov. 18:6-8 "A fool's lips enter into contention,
And his mouth calls for blows.
A fool's mouth is his destruction,
And his lips are the snare of his soul.
The words of a *talebearer (gossip or slander) are like
*tasty trifles, (A Jewish tradition reads wounds)
And they go down into the *inmost
body." (Lit. rooms of the belly)
Bible Note: This is what I feel in my belly when people say harmful things to me. It's like tense in the pit of your stomach when you are spiritually attacked.
Prov. 26:2 "Like a flitting sparrow, like a flying
   swallow,
So a curse without cause shall not
   alight."
See (Have You Done Wrong? - Make It Right!)
Bible Note: If you try to ask forgiveness and the other person refuses to forgive you it's OK. You made things right between you and God. That person will have to do the same.
Matt. 5:23-24

"Therefore if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."

Matt. 6:9-15 "In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the
power and the glory forever. Amen.

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavely Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."

Bible Note: It is God's will for us to forgive so we may be forgiven. Notice where the comas are in this prayer. We are forgiven by God as we forgive others.
Matt. 16:19 "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."
Bible Note: I would rather loose people than bind them, and myself.
Matt 18:15 "Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother."
Bible Note: No matter how you look at it we are called, as Christians, to act on any strife that may occur. Don't hold that stuff in until you burst. Speak to each other, gently, to solve problems.
Rom. 12:17-21 "Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men. If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is wirtten, 'Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,' (Deut. 32:35) says the Lord.

'Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed
   him;
If he thirsts, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of
   fire on his head.'
     (Prov. 25:21-22)

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

2 Cor. 2:10-11 "Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices."
1 Pet. 4:8 "And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins.' "    (Prov. 10:12)
BibleNote: This is why I would rather ask people to forgive me for something that bothers them than to say "I'm sorry." I see that "I'm sorry." does not require a response. It's a statement that may or may not be sincere, but when you ask to be forgiven it is a question that needs to be answered. Always remember: The small things are easy to forgive. But the big things must be forgiven.
