When You Delight in God – He Delights in You

1 Sam. 15:22-23 "Then Samuel said:

'Has the Lord as great delight in burnt
   offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
And stubbornness is as iniquity and
   idolatry…' "
Psa. 37:3-4 "Trust in the Lord, and do good;
Dwell in the land and feed on His
   faithfulness.
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of
   your heart."
Bible Note: When I became a Christian the Lord gave me a book with nursery rhymes
that He provided endings for that led to scriptures. I was happy to send this
book around the world with missionaries, and here's the link to download it free.

BibleNote: Nine years later I entered a heart shaped collage of the world in an art show
with markings of where the books went. This verse was on it. God did indeed
give me the desires of my heart.
Psa. 145:15-16 "The eyes of all look expectantly on You,
And You give them their food in due
   season.
You open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living
   thing."
Isa. 58:13-14 "If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the Lord honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your
   own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
Then you shall delight yourself in the
   Lord;
And I will cause you to ride on the
   high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob
   your father.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken."
Hos. 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of
   knowledge.
Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also will reject you from being priest
   for Me;
Because you have forgotten the law of
   your God,
I also will forget your children."
Hos. 6:6 "For I desire *mercy (Or faithfulness or loyalty)
   and not sacrifice,
And the knowledge of God more than
   burnt offerings."
Mic. 6:8 "He has shown you, O man, what is
   good;
And what does the Lord require of you
But to do justly,
To love *mercy (Or lovingkindness)
And to walk humbly with your God?"
Mic. 7:18-19 "Who is a God like You.
Pardoning iniquity
And passing over the transgression of
   the remnant to His heritage?
He does not retain His anger forever,
Because He delights in mercy.
He will again have compassion on us,
And will subdue our iniquities.
You will cast all our sins
Into the depths of the sea."
Matt.6:27-33 "Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature? So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Rom. 7:22, 25 "For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man…
I thank God – through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with the mind I myself serve the Law of God…"
2 Cor. 4:16-18 "Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
