Godly Women Act

Josh. 2:1 "Now Joshua the son of Nun sent out two men from Acacia Grove to spy secretly, saying, 'Go, view the land, especially Jericho.' So they went, and came to the house of a harlot named Rahab, and lodged there."
Josh. 6:17 "Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent."
Bible Note: Matt. 1:5 shows, "Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse." who was the father of king David. Her actions put her in the lineage of Christ.
Jud. 4:4 "Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, was judging Israel at that time."
Bible Note: The only thing said of Deborah's husband is his name. Could it be he was a man of good will who respected her position with God? Jud. 4 tells of Deborah and Barak who went out to battle together, and because Barak would not go without her the enemy was delivered into the hands of a woman named Jael. Why did God choose to use a woman as a judge at this time? Perhaps to show us He uses women too.
Ruth 1:16-17 "But Ruth said:

'*Entreat (urge) me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The Lord do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me."
BibleNote: Ruth chose to follow her mother-in-law Naomi and was also blessed of God also with a son in the lineage of Christ.
1 Sam. 25:2-42 David and his men traveled with the shepherds of a man named *Nabal (Lit. fool) and protected them. Upon sending young men to ask for food they were reviled. David was about to kill all the men of the household when Nabal's wife Abigail, unknown to her husband, quickly brought food and pleaded for their lives. David received the gift and blessed her for her wisdom. In the morning she told Nabal and "...his heart died within him, and he became like a stone. Then it happened, after about ten days, that the Lord struck Nabal, and he died." (vs. 37-38).

BibleNote: Nabal was said (in verse 17) to be "...a *scoundrel..." (Lit. son of Belial), and Abigail said "...folly is with him..." (in verse 25) so God dealt with him. Abigail was rewarded by becoming David's wife. (in vs.42)

2 Kin. 4:8-10 "Now it happened one day the Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she constrained him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by that he turned in there to eat some food. And she said to her husband, 'Look now, I know that this is a holy man of God, who passes by us regularly. Please, let us make a small upper room on the wall; and let us put a bed for him there, and a table and a chair and a lampstand; so it will be, whenever he comes to us he can turn in there.' "
Bible Note: This Shunammite woman invested in the man of God.
Luke 8:1-3 "Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and *infirmities (sicknesses) - Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance."
Acts 16:13-15 "And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul. And when she and her household were baptized, she begged us, saying, 'If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.' And she constrained us."
