| 1 Cor. 12:1-14 | "Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not
want you to be ignorant: You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these
*dumb (mute, silent) idols, however you were led. Therefore I make known to you
that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus *accursed (Gr.
anathema), and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.
Now there are *diversities (allotments or various kinds) of gifts, but the same
Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are
diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the
manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to
one is given the word of wisdom See (All About Wisdom) through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge See (The Earth Will Be Filled) through the same Spirit, to another faith See (Faith Is A Gift From God) by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings See (God Sent His Word - And Healed Them) by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, See (We Shall Trample On Serpents) to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. See (The Holy Spirit Baptism - Bears Fruit) But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free - and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. For in fact the body is not one member but many." |
| 1-23-90 poem: | The poetry You give me cannot compare To anything on earth, or in the air; It's a little bit of heaven here on earth That holds me over 'till my rebirth. This precious gift from You, Jesus, my Lord Sings out mighty words by use of Your sword; It strikes on the chord of the human heart 'Till the life is renewed with a fresh start. Then comes the Spirit to fill up the man, And teach us the wisdom that only God can; A spiritual rush flows over me Each time I notice they planted a seed. Then I realize, Christian, or no The seed will soon sprout, and begin to grow; One more soul saved forever more To seek the Lord like never before. |

You gave me a Light for the world to see, But help me to carry this Light for Thee; I want to bring it to the tunnel's end So the love of Jesus man's soul can mend. Gathering God's children from throughout the night, Through Jesus' cross to His path of right; Against darkness, and principalities, Against Satan's demons man's eyes can't see. Come to my aid, Lord, with Your Holy Spirit, To put under my heel a serpent that fears It; Like a roaring lion he seeks to devour, But Your Spirit's strength fills me in this hour. I pick up my pen to write what I heard, Then I realize he must flee from Your Word! Never to come by, of that I am sure! Jesus' blood washed me purer than pure. Although it's my hand that writes these all down, It's Your Holy Spirit Who gives evil a frown; He imputes in my heart these poems you see, Then I put them down to share God's glory. |
