If Man's Ways Please The Lord

Prov. 16:7 "When a man's ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at
   peace with him."
BibleNote: The following poem came to me as an expression of my being overwhelmed by the acknowledgment of my painting covered bridges on the railroad abutments near my home (to cover graffiti) by a man who had been hostile for five years.
9-17-91 poem:
10:09 am
Bear me up oh Son of God, Lord hold my arms up true;
So what I am painting will be a testimony to You.
I cannot see at this time the consequences of this;
But now the turn of events has lifted me up to bliss.

All the people around me stop by to say "How nice."
Even those who spent so long giving me stares of ice.
But none of the words spoken meant as much as did one nod.
Showing me his approval; after years it seamed so odd.

I had informed these people of my Christianity;
Saying I was sorry, and hurt feelings would not be.
In my mind I did no wrong, just tried to help my girl;
But from their perspective I had set their lives a whirl.

Now I pray to the Father, in Jesus, Your precious name;
Things will change so quickly, and they'll never be the same.
All the hurt will be lifted, each ones burdens made light;
As Satan and his demons must turn around and take flight.
Bible Note: When I came to the Lord I had to learn authority quickly as I could not breathe in my home. It has been over 20 years since this event, and God has provided for me a special place to heal. If I've learned anything in that time it's that giving thanks to God for any situation because He is there with you, and can turn it to your good, is the best way to keep your joy and peace in Him.

Phil. 4:6-8 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy - meditate on these things."
BibleNote: I am a janitor that does the weekly deep cleaning in the bakery of a grocery store. Once in a while it is requested that I help them in other areas. One day I was cleaning the cooler shelves in the deli using a stairway to get to the top ones. I had to jockey it around as I went with a few rolling tables full of product that took up most of the room. One woman repeatedly came in to get things and was grumbling. About the fourth time she said "I wish someone would just shoot me now." I calmly replied "Oh no. I'll ask God to bless you instead." Then, when she walked out of the cooler again, I began to sing praise songs to God, and to my delight the next time she came in her manner was cheery. The atmosphere had changed! She offered to take out two of the tables to give me room to work, and her attitude was uplifted! God does indeed inhabit His praises. Even in today's world He comes through with our daily needs.
