Tithes - And Offerings

Gen. 14:18-20 Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High.
And he blessed him and said:

'Blessed be Abram of God Most High,
Possessor of heaven and earth;
And blessed be God Most High,
Who has delivered your enemies into
   your hand.'

And he gave him a tithe of all."
Prov. 3:9-10 "Honor the Lord with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your
   increase;
So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new
   wine."
Prov. 11:24 "There is one who scatters, yet
   increases more;
And there is one who withholds more
   than is right,
But it leads to poverty."
Prov. 13:7 "There is one who makes himself rich,
   yet has nothing;
And one who makes himself poor, yet
   has great riches."
Prov. 13:11 "Wealth gained by dishonesty will be
   diminished,
But he who gathers by labor will
   increase."
Mal. 3:7-12

" 'Yet from the days of your fathers
You have gone away from My
   ordinances
And have not kept them.
Return to Me, and I will return to you,'
Says the Lord of hosts.
'But you said,
"In what way shall we return?"

Will a man rob God?
Yet you have robbed Me!
But you say,
"In what way have we robbed You?"
In tithes and offerings.
You are cursed with a curse,
For you have robbed Me,
Even this whole nation.
Bring all the tithes into the storehouse,
That there may be food in My house,
And *prove (Or test) Me now in this,'
Says the Lord of hosts,
'If I will not open for you the windows
   of heaven
And pour out for you such blessing
That there will not be room enough to
   receive it.
And I will rebuke the devourer for
   your sakes,
So that he will not destroy the fruit of
   your ground,
Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for
   you in the field,'
Says the Lord of hosts;
'And all nations will call you blessed,
For you will be a delightful land.'
Says the Lord of hosts."
Matt. 23:23

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you pay tithe of mint and anise and cumin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law: justice and mercy and faith. These you ought to have done, without leaving the others undone."

Luke 6:38

"Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

Heb. 7:4-6 "Now consider how great this man was, to whom even the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the *spoils. (plunder) And indeed those who are of the sons of Levi, who receive the priesthood, have a commandment to receive tithes from the people according to the law, that is, from their brethren, though they have come from the loins of Abraham; but he whose genealogy is not derived from them received tithes from Abraham and blessed him who had the promises."
