Unbelief - Was An Offense To Christ

Matt. 11:6

"And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me."

Matt. 13:54-58 "And when He had come to His own country, He taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished and said, 'Where did this Man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is this not the carpenter's son? Is not His mother called Mary? And His brothers James, Joses, Simon, and Judas? And His sisters, are they not all with us? Where then did this Man get all these things?' So they were offended at Him. But Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honor except in his own country and in his own house.' And He did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief."
John 1:9-13 "That was the true Light which gives light to every man who comes into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His *own, (place) and His *own (people) did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Heb. 3:7-19 "Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:

'Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your heart as in the
   rebellion,
In the day of trial in the wilderness,
Where your fathers tested Me, proved
   Me,
And saw My works forty years.
Therefore I was angry with that
   generation,
And said, "They always go astray in
   their heart,
And they have not known My ways."
So I swore in My wrath,
"They shall not enter My rest." '
Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but *exhort (encourage) one another daily, while it is called 'Today,' lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,
while it is said:

'Today, if you will hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts as in the
   rebellion.'
      (Psa. 95:7-11)

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief." (Num. 14:20-24, 28-35)
5-13-90 poem: God does have a plan for everyone's life,
If we choose to follow, He'll lessen our strife;
By veering off to find our own way,
We put sin in our lives more every day.

God loves us, each one, more than we know,
Over and over His tenderness does show;
No matter how far or where we wander to,
Jesus' holy name will keep shining through.

If we curl up daily to read the good Word,
The things in our lives past will seem so absurd;
Miracles we'll see happen each day,
If we stay strong in God and strive not to stray.

Our pains will all cease, and we will soon find,
Our battles replaced with the spiritual kind;
But we will always come out fresh and new,
To find Jesus power stays eternally true.
