 Note: There's a difference between war and killing. God provided
"...cities of refuge...that the manslayer who kills any person accidentally may
flee there...from the avenger, (of blood) that the manslayer may not die until
he stands before the congregation in judgment." (Num. 35:11-12). "But if he
strikes him...so that he dies, he is a murderer; the murderer shall surely be
put to death." (vs. 16) The manslayer flees to the city of refuge and stays
until the death of the high priest, but if he leaves before that, and the
avenger of blood finds him and kills him, he "...shall not be guilty of *blood,
(murder) because he (the manslayer) should have remained in his city of
refuge..." (vs. 27-28). |
