When We Do What Is Right In Our Own Eyes

Jud. 21:25 "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes."
BibleNote: The entire book of Judges is filled with the wretched things man does when he's following what he thinks is right in his own eyes. Today we would consider that doing your own thing. But each time they fell away from God, judgment came, and each time they turned back to Him, and repented for their evil ways, He raised up a judge to deliver them.
Prov. 12:15 "The way of a fool is right in his own
   eyes,
But he who heeds counsel is wise."
Prov. 14:12 "There is a way which seems right to a
   man,
But its end is the way of death."
Prov. 16:2 "All the ways of a man are pure in his
   own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the spirits."
Prov. 21:2 "Every way of a man is right in his own
   eyes,
But the Lord weighs the
   hearts."

Mal. 3:6 "For I am the Lord, I do not change..."
1 Cor. 10:11 "Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our *admonition, (instruction) on whom the ends of the ages have come."
2 Tim. 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for *instruction in righteousness, (training, discipline) that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
Heb. 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
BibleNote: I have met people who believe the Old Testament is not for today, but clearly these verses show it is. Without the Old Testament we have no indication of what God considers right or wrong, and since He does not change what He said then is true today - and forever!
