Agreement (Or Consenting)

Gen. 9:1 "So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said 'Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth.' "
Bible Note: After the flood, God gave Noah and his family an order.

Gen. 11:1-4 "Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there. Then they said to one another, 'Come, let us make bricks and bake them thoroughly.' They had brick for stone, and they had asphalt for mortar. And they said, 'Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower whose top is in the heavens; let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be scatered abroad over the face of the whole earth.' "
Bible Note: Over time they agreed they did not want to be dispersed.
Gen. 11:5-6 "But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower which the sons of men had built. And the Lord said, 'Indeed the people are one and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do; now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.' "
Bible Note: How powerful agreement can be for mankind, if we agree on something that is pleasing in God's eyes. But if we rebel -
Israel insight
While in Israel we learned that Nimrod, known as "...the mighty hunter before the Lord.' (Gen. 10:9), shot an arrow into the sky, and said he did not need God. Then a mosquito flew up his nose, and ate out his brain for 8 years, and he died a terrible death.
Gen. 11:7-8 " 'Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.' So the Lord scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they ceased building the city."
Bible Note: God accomplished His desire anyway, didn't He?
Jud. 21:25 "In those days there was no king in Israel; everyone did what was right in his own eyes."
Bible Note: The book of Judges shows the depths of mankind's sins when he makes his own decisions. The word consenting is not in my Bible so I was led to the agreement after the flood. The following are 5 poms I wrote as a babe in the Lord within a 3 hour time frame one night, but they are indeed pertinent for today.
Story While swimming one day with my girls a certain boy kept pushing the girls into the pool. His mother gave him 5 minutes out of the pool, and kept saying, "No! Unless both people are consenting, it's not even funny! Someone could hurt their foot on the deck!" Then his sister pushed him in the pool, and sure enough, he hurt his foot on the deck. His mom said, "You see what I mean?"
Bible Note: I thought of how powerful our words are.

Bible Note: On 6-18-91, when I got up to check on my girls, I asked God for something to say on consenting. The following are His answer.
Poem 1
3:57 am
A boy and girl consented
To something they did not know,
Then a month or two later
The girl began to show;

They were too young to marry
So someone told her how,
An operation later
She was without her child.

But in her heart was lacking
The soul she should have kept.
She spent her life in mourning,
The consenting she did regret!

One day she called to Jesus
To forgive her for her sin,
The space inside her then,
The Holy Spirit came in.

He showed her God's forgiveness,
And that her child was safe,
She worked hard for other girls
To keep them from disgrace;

For righteousness, it was
Imputed to her, so
Atonement for her sin
Assured heaven she would know.
Poem 2
4:21 am
One day a man said "Honey"
To his very little girl,
A secret he did show her
That set her life a whirl;

Though pain she did endure
She consented to her dad,
She was told that he loved her
So he would do no bad.

When she grew she found out
She was hurt and abused,
Now it was her own pride
She feared that she would lose;

A friend told her of Jesus,
A Man who could not lie,
His saving grace she wanted,
So she prayed He would come by.

He showed her His true love
For all children of today,
Though many are deceived
Into thinking they did stray;

She forgave her daddy
While tears filled up her eyes,
It was the peace of Jesus
That she did realize.

When daddy came to Jesus,
Her joy, it was complete,
She knew that up in heaven,
In God's time they would meet;

Brother and Sister in God
They would be some day,
In a place where happiness
Always has its way.
Poem 3
5:16 am
A guy and his good buddy
Consented to make the grade,
So they could join this men's club,
But then they learned of AIDS.

Now their lives were ending
Without a second chance;
They did not even get to
Know a true romance.

But as the boys went along
They found Jesus was the Way,
They asked Him to forgive
Their abominating stray;

Jesus did forgive them,
Though reprobate they had been,
They found that He loved all men
Regardless of their sin.

Before their time was ended
Here upon the earth
They spoke to all the members
About their true rebirth;

Everyone in their club
Asked Jesus to come in,
Then their lives were cleansed
Of this tremendous sin.

The boys all got together
With Jesus in their heart
To teach of the Lord's love
So young boys would not start;

The error of their ways
Taught children loud and clear
When the Word of God was read,
And they began to hear.
Poem 4
5:49 am
These kids consented to
Have fun with drugs and booze,
They did not know their minds
Control they soon would lose;

Until one day a friend said
He would take his life,
And they just shrugged it off
Because they felt no strife.

Another trip upstairs,
And they all did not see
How his life he would take,
So happy he seemed to be.

Then they found his body
Lying there on the floor;
A friendship gone forever,
This one they'd see no more.

In their despair they looked up,
And saw Jesus Christ, the Lord;
They took solace in His gift,
Their lives He could afford;

They did not know just why
Their friend they had to lose,
But Jesus' way was better,
His path they all did choose.

Their lives forever changed,
The drugs and booze all done,
The Word of God they shared
To fill their lives with One!

Of all the things they tried
To control how they did feel,
They never felt so high
As knowing God is real!
Bible Note: This poem relayed an actual event that had happened.
Poem 5
6:12 am
As little ones they all watched
Violence on their TV,
Neat cartoon characters
Consenting to fun they'd see;

No matter how hard they hit,
Or how far they would fall,
They never seemed to worry,
They wouldn't get hurt at all.

When they got older it
Was movies they would know,
They showed that being hostile
Was the only way to go;

By then they found it easy
To get their way by force,
Without any guidance
Their lives would run its course.

To the streets they did take
To run with all the gang,
'Till one day a friend's life
Ended with a big bang!

Then they all did wonder
How something like this could be;
Until the Spirit taught them
It's Jesus they should see.

They turned to Him in their day
Of sadness, oh so strong;
To let His Holy Spirit
Help each of their days along;

No more violence did they see
In their lives on the earth;
Since they knew they were all loved
By Jesus in their rebirth.
Bible Note: This poem had a confirmation in the following Aug. 22, 1992 article, (pg. 9-11) VIOLENCE on TV, in the TV Guide.

Matt. 18:18-20 "Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."
Bible Note: Could the woman have bound the guardian angels, and loosed the enemy to strike with her negative words? We do indeed get what we speak.
Jas. 4:1-3 "Where do *wars (battles) and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and *war. (battle) Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures."
Bible Note: We need to be speaking positively in line with the good things God wants to give us so we will receive blessings instead of the negative things people say in cursing.
