If My People

Lev. 26:8 "Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a
hundred of you shall put ten thousand
    to flight;
your enemies shall fall by the sword
   before you."
Josh. 23:10-11 "One man of you shall chase a thousand, for the Lord your God is He who fights for you, as He has promised you. Therefore take diligent heed to yourselves, that you love the Lord your God."
1 Chr. 12:1, 14-15 "Now these were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, helpers in the war...These were from the sons of Gad, captains of the army; the least was over a hundred, and the greatest was over a thousand. These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all those in the valleys, to the east and to the west."
2 Chr. 7:14 "if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
Bible Note: Clearly, God gives His people leave to choose Him, and His ways. Then He goes before us in our battles. His love is such that He will not force us to serve Him.
John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
Bible Note: Pride in self, without God, brings death.

Rom. 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor princialities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Bible Note: Nothing can separate us from God once we are His, but our choice to turn from Him! If mankind arrogantly goes thier own way they will live with the consequences of their decision.

Eph. 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
Bible Note: Giving glory to God, and submitting to His ways, shows we love Him. Then we ask Him for His will, and His power works in us!

Phil. 4:12-13 "I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Bible Note: Mankind was not born content. It is something we must learn. We have a lack when we come into this world that can only be fulfilled by recieving the love of God.
Heb. 4:16 "Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
Bible Note: When we are too weak in ourselves we can still boldly approach God to help, and His Holy Spirit comes to our aid. It is our choice.
Jas. 4:1-3 "Where do *wars (battles) and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and *war. (battle) Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures."
Bible Note: Selfishly asking for our own gain, or pleasure, causes our prayers to be hindered. We are not in line with God's will for us.
Jas. 4:6-10 "But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

'God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.'      (Prov. 3:34)

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up."
Bible Note: We are given a gift by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, and then we are required to seek God for how He chooses to direct our lives to give Him glory through a willing vessel. When we follow our flesh we give the enemy legal access to attack us. Our part is to make an effort to resist evil, and have a desire to please God.
