Hidden In The Time Of Trouble

Exod. 2:1-3 "And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank."
Bible Note: Moses is a literal example of being hidden in the Old Testament.
Josh. 2:6 "(But she had brought them up to the roof and hidden them with the stalks of flax, which she had laid in order on the roof.)"
Bible Note: The spies were also hidden in time of trouble.
Psa. 17:8-9 "Keep me under the shadow of Your
   wings,
From the wicked who oppress me,
From my deadly enemies who surround
   me."
See (Under The Shadow Of God’s Wings)
Psa. 27:4-6

"One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the
   Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
And now my head shall be lifted up
   above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy
   in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord."

Psa. 31:19-20

"Oh, how great is Your goodness,
Which You have laid up for those who
   fear You,
Which You have prepared for those
   who trust in You
In the presence of the sons of men!
You shall hide them in the secret place
   of Your presence
From the plots of man;
You shall keep them secretly in *a
    pavilion (shelter)
From the strife of tongues."

Psa. 64:1-2

"Hear my voice, O God, in my
   meditation;
Preserve my life from fear of the
   enemy.
Hide me from the secret counsel of the
   wicked,
From the insurrection of the workers
   of Iniquity."

Note: Notice the protection is against the fear of the enemy!
Isa. 26:20-21 "Come, my people, enter your
   chambers,
And shut your doors behind you;
Hide yourself, as it were, for a little
   moment,
Until the indignation is past.
For behold, the Lord comes out of His
   place
To punish the inhabitants of the earth
   for their iniquity;
The earth will also disclose her blood
And will no more cover her slain."
See (The Lord Will Fight For You)
Zeph. 2:1-3 "Gather yourselves together, yes,
   gather together,
O *undesirable (shameless) nation,
Before the decree is issued,
Before the day passes like chaff,
Before the Lord’s fierce anger comes
   upon you,
Before the day of the Lord’s anger
   comes upon you!
Seek the Lord, all you meek of the
   earth,
Who have upheld His justice.
Seek righteousness, seek humility.
It may be that you will be hidden
In the day of the Lord’s anger."
See (If You Seek Him – You Will Find Him)
Acts 9:23-25 "Now after many days were past, the Jews plotted to kill him. But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates day and night, to kill him. Then the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall in a large basket."
Note: This is a practical New Testament example of being hidden.
Col. 3:1-4 "If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory."
