Sleep In Peace

Psa. 4:8 "I will both lie down in peace, and sleep;
For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell
   in safety."
Prov. 3:1-2, 21-24 "My son, do not forget my law,
But let your heart keep my
   commands;
For length of days and long life
And peace they will add to you...
My son, let them not depart from your
   eyes -
Keep sound wisdom and discretion;
So they will be life to your soul
And grace to your neck.
Then you will walk safely in your way,
And your foot will not stumble.
When you lie down, you will not be
   afraid;
Yes, you will lie down and your sleep
   will be sweet."
Eccl. 5:12 "The sleep of a laboring man is sweet,
Whether he eats little or much;
But the abundance of the rich will not
   permit him to sleep."
Jer. 31:25-26 " 'For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.' After this I awoke and looked around, and my sleep was sweet to me."
Ezek. 34:25 "I will make a covenant of peace with them, and cause wild beasts to cease from the land; and they will dwell safely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods."
Matt. 11:38 "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

Example: Mark 4:35-41
"On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, 'Let us cross over to the other side.' Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, 'Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, 'Peace, be still!' And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them, 'Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?' And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, 'Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!' "
Israel insight
While in Israel we received a teaching on this passage. Jesus said for them to cross over, and then He went to sleep on a pillow. He was at peace, sleeping in the midst of the great windstorm because He was resting on the promise of going to the other side. We were told that "Storms do not last!" And encouraged to enter into God's rest. When you learn to rest on the pomises of God, you are at peace, and it will look like you don't care.
Bible Note: Jesus spoke "Peace!" to the storm directly, and as His children we can do that too, in the name of Jesus! My children and I did just that on a walk one day when a storm came up. We spoke "Peace! In the name of Jesus!" Then we watched the clouds go ahead of us as we walked home. Amazing.
John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let if be afraid."

Eph. 3:20-21 "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
See (Seven Steps To Salvation)
Heb. 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."
Bible Note: If we can truly believe in the power in the name of Jesus, and the Blood of the Lamb, we will see His power working through us.
