We Should Share With The Poor

Deut. 15:7-11 "If there is among you a poor man of your brethren, within any of the gates in your land which the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart nor shut your hand from your poor brother, but you shall *open (freely open) your hand wide to him and willingly lend him sufficient for his need, whatever he needs. Beware lest there be a wicked thought in your heart, saying, 'The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand,' and your eye be evil against your poor brother and you give him nothing, and he cry out to the Lord against you, and it become sin among you. You shall surely give to him, and your heart should not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand. For the poor will never cease from the land; therefore I command you, saying, 'You shall open your hand wide to your brother, to your poor and your needy, in your land.' "
Isa. 1:17 "Learn to do good;
Seek justice,
Reprove the oppressor;
*Defend (vindicate) the fatherless,
Plead for the widow."
Isa. 58:6-11

"Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
Is it not to share your bread with the
   hungry,
And that you bring to your house the
   poor who are *cast out; (wandering)
When you see the naked, that you
   cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own
   flesh?
Then your light shall break forth like
   the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before
   you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear
   guard.
Then you shall call, and the Lord will
   answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, 'Here I
   am.'
If you take away the yoke from your
   midst,
The *pointing of (Lit. sending out of) the finger,
   and speaking wickedness,
If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the
   darkness,
And your *darkness (Or gloom) shall be as the
   noonday.
The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose
   waters do not fail."

Gal. 6:6-10 "Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith."
1 John 3:16-18 "By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth."
