Working Unto The Lord

Exod. 31:1-5 "Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: 'See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. And I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to design artistic works, to work in gold, in silver, in bronze, in cutting jewels for setting, in carving wood, and to work in all manner of workmanship.' "
Bible Note: Any type of work that we are able to do is instilled within us by God.
See (The Holy Spirit's Duties)
Jer. 31:16 "Thus says the Lord:

'Refrain your voice from weeping,
And your eyes from tears;
For your work shall be rewarded, says
   the Lord...' "
Bible Note: For this reason we should always have joy in our work.
See (What? "Says The Lord")
Matt. 5:16

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."

Bible Note: When I can work with a pleasant attitude, no matter what job is being done, there is an outward sign to the world that I have something within me that gives me that joy to serve others.
Acts 13:2 "As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Holy Spirit said, 'Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' "
Bible Note: God calls each of us out for specific tasks that He wants us to do.

Rom. 14:5-6 "One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each one be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks."
Bible Note: I once shared this passage with a woman who thought she should be in church though her husband wanted her to go fishing. I asked if she liked fishing. She said she did. I said "Then go fishing unto the Lord."
See (Remember The Sabbath Day)
Gal. 6:4 "But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."
Phil. 1:6 "being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
See (God Does What He Speaks)
Co. 3:23 "And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men."
Bible Note: When we do the work God calls us to do, we rejoice in His provision. I am a housekeeper that takes pride in my work, in a good way. I'm always thankful to God that He gives me the grace to work as hard as I do at my age. It has been noted of me by a past employer that "She works well independently." And I have been personally told by a manager that I have "initiative." I have also shared with an employer that when a company gives their associates a break room it is a courtesy for their workers, as a little bit of home, and as such it is everyone's job to keep it clean. But it seems in today's world that most people don't think they have to clean up after themselves, and if you ask them to do so they will tell you it's "not in their job description." When a person of integrity comes along and gives attention to details for the sake of others they are sometimes teased, and said to have OCD. (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) I wondered why the Lord led me to use that word so I looked it up Integrity: strict personal honesty and independence. It fits. I once told a manager that I had received 30 cents an hour more than they had quoted me, and wondered if there was a mistake. He thanked me for my honesty and said they could afford it. God knows what He's doing.
2 Tim. 2:15 "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
Heb. 6:10 "For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister."
Bible Note: I have found that whether I'm helping my brothers and sisters, or people out in the world, it is important to continue to do my best in any situation. I just tell people that "I'm working unto the Lord." No matter when it is, or what I"m doing, God sustains me.
Heb. 13:20-21 "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."
